Welcome
This site is devoted to publishing the data produced from the Quality and Outcomes Framework of the GP contract in the UK.
This has been used as a method of paying general practitioners but it contains a lot of information of general interest. Examples include the variation of recorded disease prevalence across the UK or by different practice sizes.
The site includes all of the data from all four countries for the years 2004/5 until 2007/8 and has data of Scotland and England in 2008/9. The site therefore now defaults to 2008/9.There are some minor differences in the way that this is recorded between the countries but for most purposes it is directly comparable. QOF News
The quality and outcomes framework is not set in stone and I aim to try to track the issues. You can view recent items including Targets and Indicators, 10 Tip for QOF coding. and or you can visit the main page. Hints and tips along with analysis and opinion should make this the place to keep up with all developments.

Map
Using the Google Maps service prevalence data down to PCT level is now plotted on an interactive map. You can look from SHA/country level and get details by clicking on the markers. Local PCTs or health boards can be selected from there. Practice level is being worked on. The difficult part is geocoding and dealing with health centres.
Download the Data
I have had several requests for the raw data behind the site. This is publically available for all four contries and most of my work has been to get it from spreadsheeting and into a database format. All of this is now available to download in a format suitable for databases. Please note: These files are much too large to be put into a spreadsheet. You will need a database.
Get Alerts
You can now get an email when significant extra content is added to the database. This is a fairly infrequent email and is likely to be even quieter until next year! Your address will not be passed on and I have nothing to sell you. You can unsubscribe at any time.
The new system is more secure and more professional. To subscribe, unsubscribe or change your details go to the list page.
